I notice my new shipment (from saltwaterfish.com) of shaving brushes were bright green. Now comparing them to my last shimpment which has been in the tank for like 4 months, the new looks ideal. Why could I be have problems with keeping shaving brushes? You don't need halides? I think I have efficent lighting...48" Compact Fluorescent Strip Light (110W), 2 24" double fluorescent hoods (80W). This is a total of 190 watts in a 55 gal. Any ideas??

I done some a few years ago and they were of but never thrived. I had them all grouped together. Figured out the hard way you can't get them growing that way. I have spead mine out this time and I started with 5 and count is over 15. If your tank is going good they will start doing a super root system in the sand bed nd pop up everywhere.
My fish and my hermits make great attempts to mow them but can't hurt the population at all.:)

At the most my NI are 10, never really higher. I did notice that some have grown root systems. The crabs do pick at them which frustrates me.
