why did my reef devil skimmer go nuts?

so last night i came home to water all over the floor. i come to find out that it is the skimmer. it acted like i put stress coat in the tank, which i didnt do. i didnt put anything in the tank actually....it just started to go nuts. it skimmed about 3 gallons of water all over the floor. why could this have happened? i dont even wanna plug it back in!

Clogged? What about the air/vent hose. Superskimmers tend to overflow when the air inlet hose is clogged with salt not sure about your skimmer.

hmmmm it is possible that it could be clogged i guess. that would prob explain why that happened...thanks.. ill check in a little bit

nothing was clogged or anything...im it is working fine now but whats to say this wont happen tomorrow?....any ideas?

did your water level in sump change at all, did you do a water change or anything else??? I dont undertsnad it, mine has been running at the same level since it got broke in.

yeah he water level dropped quite a bit after i split of of the skimmer lol. luckly it prob only did it for about 2-3 hours...
