My thoughts on shipping to our great frozen north (which is slowly thawing):
-After inquiring, all the stores I emailed that has a Live Arrival guarantee will not honour it at all.
-Over the last two years anything at customs will be held up to a week or more, not a couple days. It took me 8 weeks to receive one lousy order (sat at customs for 2) and the times vary according to the mood of the customs officials.
And quite frankly...why order from the US? By the time you get the exchange rate, taxes, duty, whatever else they feel like tacking onto the price is it really worth it in the end? You may find a great deal here and there like lighting. There's a great store out of Vancouver that has had my dry goods to me within 5 days and livestock within 2 (and I'm south of Calgary).
And on a personal reason, whenever I have tried to deal on the phone or online with a store in the US, as soon as they find out I'm trying to ship to Canada they treat me like I have two heads and don't understand english. I don't patronize anywhere with poor customer service in my own city and I have yet to find one store that is even acceptable.
