It is that time of year again to add to the aquarium. I went down to the local fish store and purchased some fish. The prices were good and the fish just came in. As the employee was ringing my purchase up, I asked how they aclimate their fish that come in. The response was "I just put them in"!!! I asked "don't you even float for temputure?" Nope. Well the fish bit the bullet in about 3 days.
Now think of it. First the fish is caught, then shipped to a large distributer in the US. They are then shipped to your local pet store. Each step, stessing the fish alittle more. In my opinion aclimating the fish is one of the most important steps to keeping it alive after being removed from it's nature habitat.
I always have pretty good success with Saltwaterfish.com I lost one soon after it was put in, but it does occassionally happen. I am impressed with the quality of their fish, so much I am not even going to try to get credit for the one fish. Good Job Saltwaterfish.com for educating us on how to greatly increasing the odds of survival and also selling quality fish.
