my 55 gal tank thats been up for close to 2 years now is no more.... the center brace snapped the tank was bowing out pretty badly and started to leak.all in a matter of hours.
so now the fun part of starting all over again.

Wow, sorry to hear that man. I hope this doesn't discourage you. It's always fun to start over, but under the right circumstances.

Was it a used tank..even then...I have had tanks for years and years..are they making them cheaper now or what?

yes flower is was a used tank so it was older, and the brace was starting to get a little beat up. ive been planning on a upgrade for a while now so its kind of a blessing in a way just happened at the wrong time. just how life works ya know?!?! lol
i did run out and buy a 40 gal breeder tank. and between my old frag tank and the 40 gal tank i have all the coral and 5 fish. the nice part about all this is i was able to seperate my live rock that has Caulerpa growing on it from the live rock thats clean and keep that seperated so either i can use it in the sump (on the new futer tank) or kill the rock and resead it.
i put all the live sand in a couple 5 gal buckets ,going to run the 40 gal tank without sand.
most of the corals are doing great but the gsp havent opened up yet and
i have 2 sps corals that i am expermenting with they turned all white rather quick but i heard some where to leave them be they might come back??? time will tell on that.
and the fish are adjusting well still eating and being active so thats a good sign!
now the fun part deciding on the next tank!!!

Sorry bout your dilemma Loop! Glad most of your livestock made it, WHEW. I don't kow if yours had this but my 55 has a six inch wide pane of glass glued in place underneath the plastic cross brace to eliminate that exact problem. Those plastic cross braces are only there to hold the little glass tops in place. They are in NO way structural. My 125 has two of them (the tops are in three segments) and when I take it to the glass shop to get drilled I'll get some for it as well. Anyhooooooo.... GET A 125 YEEHAW!!! j/k

nope this tank didnt have the extra glass in place that was my idea of what i was going to do just never got around to it.... but guarentee the next tank will have it in place from the start!
and before i can figure out what size tank im going to get gotta decide on a stocking list. and after seeing cranberrys agressive tank build thats what im leaning towards right now but time will tell, lots of decisions to be made!
