Why this, Why that!

I see alot of that on the message board. Why this and why is that happening.
I only started this hobby about 8 months ago. I had alot of questions about alot of things also, but I grabbed alot of literature and started reading. My very first book was "The Conscientious Aquarist" by Robert Finner. A very informative and easy to understand techniques. He also has a huge list of "tank mates" to help you choose your new friends.
I guess what I am trying to say is, why does everything have to have an answer? The first thing I feel everyone must learn in this hobby is PATIENCE. It's a virtue in this hobby. Get a notebook and take notes of what goes on week to week, or day by day if yer a "junkie" ;) and when you go back and re-read, ....blink! the bulb will go on.
I don't mean to offend anyone, if I did. I just see post where alot of people are worried about different things that more than likely time will cure.
I'm probably going to get kicked off the board for this.....

I think you have a point. I see many a post such as you are saying. But we must all help, even if the inexperienced or experienced people are impulsive and want an answer right then and there.
That is the reason that I like this particular board. You do get answers quick. I am one of the members of this board that has a bit of an attitude, and sometimes I get ticked at some of the things that go on, but the Sharks are good at pulling the reigns in, and then I chill for a bit.
One topic that keeps coming up is, "I just recieved my shipment of livestock, Now what do I feed it." Seems to me that this should have been looked at before ordering. On the other hand, I think we are all a bit impulsive when it comes to our tanks, and we will make a mistake, or panic because we do not know the answer. I believe that this is the purpose behind this bulletin board.
It is just human nature to be impatient. Especially in this "I want it now" age.

With ya all the way steamboat, you are right about quick answers on this board, i am quite impressed with the continual feedback. Yeah, those sharks got-it-goin-on!
IMO, one is quicker to learn when they take their own personal time to do research and such. Planning ahead does help too. Like a friend of mines tells me, as I'm gazing into my tank, Jeff, its the same as it was yesterday! Yes, he's probably right, but I see my tank as my work of art, this is my picture I am creating. No 2 tanks are alike. And I am Father Nature!
Happy Reefing! <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />

i guess the reason i post is because alot of people here have been there, done that.i read alot and still do,but i think it's the human element on this board..i feel like these folks on this board are truely helpful to me..alot of the books i have read don't really make things clear and their advice is so drifferent in each on..i know we have alot of drifferent opinions on here, but each one has a bit of personalty in them.these folks make me feel like my concern is theirs..my hat is off to all of you :D
