Why won't my Leather stand up?

I have a yellow leather coral that is about 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide on top. I have had it for about 4 months. This entire time it has stood up straight, but the last two days it has been bent over touching the ground or just above. Water conditions are fine, lighting set up hasn't changed, and water movement is the same. The coral looks healthy. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to get it to stand up straight again?

I HEAR SOMETIMES THEIR stock can get to long for the head.... iv also heard ppl cut the stock and rubber band it to a rock untill it attaches... mine is starting to do the same thing so its either time to cut the stock or frag it.... to my knowledge they are very hardy and will grow from almost any part that is cut... btw nice coral

I've only had mine for about two weeks and I tried moving it,after it opened all the way,to another spot because it was so big.It really enjoys alot of current around it,and I think because it is a typical fussy leather.Right now my Toadstool is doing weird things.I ended putting the yellow back to its old spot and it seems fine now.Give it a few more days and if things don't change try moving it to another spot in the same area.Good luck! Here's a pic of mine. When I got it and first took it out of the bag,it was 4" in diamater. Then the next day I went to look into the tank and it was almost 10" across.

It looks to me(based on your recent picture) that the base is overgrowing the rock it is on....
I had a colt coral that did that once and it became very limp like that as well. Maybe that has something to do with it?
Just tossing out ideas.

The coral has fused it's stalk to the rock. There is no way to remove it from the rock. I'm going to start a new thread if anyone has any advise on how to cut the stalk and how to reattach the piece being cut.

Try moving it out of the sand and into the rockwork. That might give it a bit more support. I also find that these corals really like to soak up the light, so, moving it up might just do the trick.
