Wierd circles on the bottom of my dsb

I was checking out the bottom of my dsb for the first time last night and saw two circles. One is brown and one is a very dark blue almost black. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the tank, but it looks like when glass is shot with a bullet. You know those expanding circles.?
Both circles are about quarter size, and reside in one side of the tank. Again there appears to be nothing wrong with the tank, and I wanted to see if anything like this has been seen before.
I'll try to get pics sometime soon.
Thanks.
PS - I'm rebuilding the rock work this weekend, so if anybody think I should dig down to these circles - or not - please let me know soon.
Thanks twice;)

are these on top of the sandbed, or on the bottom and you are looking at them from the inside of your aquarium stand? If they are on top of the sandbed, I would venture so far as to guess that the brown one is a diatom bloom, and the blue/black one may be a slime algea bloom.

I would not disturb it. Most likely it is nitrogen fixating bacteria that by coincidence is in the shape of circles. If you can get a pic it would be appreciated.

gregzbobo - they are on the bottom. I can only see them if I look up from inside the stand.
shep - I actually hope they're aliens $$$$$$ :D
I'll try to get pics in the next day or two. Thanks for the quick responses.
