wierd stuff growing on my rock.

On one of my rocks i have these wierd feathers growing. They're white and they are shaped just like a birds feather. They're about 1/4" to 1/2" long. They have no tubes like feather dusters. They seem to just be growing right out of the rock and they're multiplying. Does anyone know what they are? :notsure:

I'm not home right now to upload pics. I've taken pictures I just havent put them on my comp yet. I will when I get home late tonight.
If they're polyps how can they survive with poor lighting? I have a FOWLR and i'm using p.o.s. flouresent's.

ok, here's the pics. they don't look that good on camera cuz they're swaying pretty fast, they're right in the current.

I think they look like some type of feather duster but the pics are really blurry you could try and shut off the powerheads for a few minutes so you can maybe get a clear picture.
