hey everyone!
ive got some kind of worm creature that lives in one of my rocks. it comes out at different times of the day and it seems to extend itself out and then open the end which looks like some kind of multi wiskered mouth i have no idea what it is. the color is pretty much brown i can see about 3-4 inches of it outta the rock and its like an 1/8" thick.
Does anyone know what this is?? should i be worried?? i havent seen it eat anything or try to but should i take it out or leave it alone??
thanks!!

I think that sounds like a bobbit worm. Does the head have 2 bigger antennae on the top of its head and 3-4 more, smaller ones surrounding its head? That, plus a reddish-brown color, makes me think it is a bobbit.
In general they are harmless scavengers. These guys can get big (6 feet!) and when/if they do I would be wary. If you see any small fish disappear he would be one of my first suspects.

it doesnt seem to have any antena things or a red color its pretty much light brown and the last part of it pulls back inside of itself and when all the way extended it has some kind of mouth area
ive never noticed anything missing so if hes not a threat then i wont try to get rid of him which i have no idea how i would hes living inside the rocks
thanks

i can confirm that is a peanut worm, i had one and scooped it out and took it 2 the shops and they said it was a peanut worm and they sed it eats fish crap but if the fish eat it it cud poison them but they said that fish are not stupid and they are very unlikely to eat it especially if the worm is of fair size
