Wife is going to kill me

Okay I have been operating a RO/DI for 2 years now and have not had any major problems except for the last 2 weeks.
2 weeks ago I went to make water in a 35gal rubbermaid tote. I had it timed so I woke up at 3:00am to shut the water off and the tote would be 3/4 full. So I walk out to my dining/aquarium room and notice a huge puddle. My mj1200 that I use for top off had stuck on and I would say at least 30gals of ro/di water leaked on to the floor and then to the basement.
I moved my container to the back porch and upgraded to a 55gal rubbermaid trash can. Hook everything up and made water last night. Woke up at 6:00am to find my trash can was empty. It had a hole in the bottom
.

Hey Andy,
i feel your pain...ive overflowed my container twice in 2 weeks,,,,the tile floor is real shiney now
told my wife thats one good way to keep the floors clean...she didnt think it was that funny! I told her for fathers day she could get me an auto top off!!!!!!!!!

I ran a 1 inch pvc from the cellar up to the aquarium & elbowed it in to the tank so I don't have to carry water anymore. Well I put the switch under the light switch!!!!!!! When I hooked up the electric someone had hit the water switch instead of the light , so who is cleaning when all this water starts coming out . Yep, I couldn't understand what all the hollering was about
So now I've got a cover over the water switch. Water comes out of there about 30 gal a min

Naaaaaaaaaah. She won't kill you...just tell her it was very fortunate that it was just RO water and not 35 gallons of salt water, like my 55 leaked all over our living room( destroyed the carpet), down into the basement ceiling(destroyed dry wall and light fixture) and onto a oak table(which molded and still has to be refinished)
The damage was well over $2000, my husband almost served up sushi for dinner that night.
So please, feel free to use me as a "scape goat", and buy some big fans

i had just a little leak 1 time....it leaked onto my living room floor and into the basement. unfortunately it sits right over the top of our furnace. had to pay more than a little $ to the furnace repair man....coulda been worse though, $2000?

Yep...Replace entire upstairs flooring....floorboards....trim, which lead to leveling the kitchen floor...which led to new cupboards..
then there's the drywall on the ceiling...and the carpet downstairs, which had just recently replaced due to the water softner exploding...so the house insurance was used up....hmmm...what else..let's see here

I used to have that problem all the time, would forget to turn off the RO unit before leaving for work or going to sleep at night and without fail would end up with plenty of saltwater on the kitchen floor and leaking through to the basement while the dogs tried to hide in the one dry corner of the room.
Now I keep the RO unit connected to the slop sink in the basement and fill IO buckets for mixing salt water in the slop sink. If it overflows, down teh drain it goes.

So since you're still posting, I'm assuming your wife didn't can you or your tank. So what's the statis? Are the flood waters receeding?
