Wife wants a predator tank!!

OK my wife decided that she wants a predator tank.. She has a 33 gal freshwater tank which will be converted..Size of fish is a concern.. I know she likes dwarf lions and puffers as well as leopard groupers and sweetlips.. i can't imagine having more than 3 fish in this tank.. what would make a good thresome?! I know, i know..NO WOMENS NAMES PLEASE

33gallon is no home for any of the above mentioned fish... sorry....
I didn't know there was such a thing as a small predator tank.

You could do a species only with the dwarf lionfish or a dwarf puffer like a valentini just 1 fish though.
Acutally the valentini might be able to go with 1 other small fish.

now is the time to strike, and lay the groundwork for a larger tank. A 33 would be ok for a dwarf lion, but that may be it. The dwarfs can get 7", and will eat anything the can fit in their mouth. Be cautious with a lion with the dwarf puffer, they can be prone to nipping fins.

are there any groupers that r on the small side that would get along with the dwarf lionfish? I know the 33 is kinda small for 3 but could get away with 2 for a year or so... to see if she likes it.

i agree that ur tank is to small. if she wants a pred tank it time to go big, get a 180 and have fun. turn that 33 into a nano reef

In this case the quantity of fish, really doesn't matter. Just one fish might be too much. Probably just a dwarf lion would be the only thing I'd say too. The problem is that any other smaller fish are at risk. I also wouldn't classify a dwarf puffer as a 'predator,' esp. a smller Valentini.
I mush ask though, what's the attract to 'predator' fish? Watching the fish eat live foods or any fish in specific?

Don't think your totally out of options with a 33g.
Eel - Gymnothorax melatremus
Clown Mantis Shrimp - Odontodactylus scyllarus
Small Wartskin Angler - Antennarius maculatus

Yeah did she see a big tank with angels and such in it? The door is open, if you want a bigger tank stick your foot through it!!

yeah that's a good list...
If wetpets is still selling metaremus, you can get em for cheap cheap.. a group of them would be pretty cool.

Keep in mind we are talking about one, specific eel, Gymnothorax melatremus
, the Golden Dwarf Moray. No other eels are appropriate for that tank.
