im lucky enough to live in an area surrounded by water and soem pristine beaches. i had a thought the other day about wild copepod colletion: is there any reason it couldnt be done?
take water from a known clean area, possibly at low tide and around seagrass beds or tidal pools and place that into a seperate tank from my DT. now the question i pose is how to ensure i dont introduce any pathogens into the DT when catching the pods for placement in the DT? would there be any quaentine procedures that would work? phyto could be provided to feed the pods.

i would say quarantine any wild stuff you get for at least a few weeks just to be sure. i am planning on doing the same thing(overniting wild livestock) when i go to akumal. what i did was set up a 125 with just sand and rock to use as a quarantine.

Anytime you take any marine life, even water, you take the chance of introducing all sorts of parasites and disease in many forms; given the possible consequences, is it worth it?
