Will a FPerc + tomato get along?

Hi, I have a FP Clown in my 75 gl, and he is quite happy, he's a little over an inch. He seems to love an empty shell that he uses as his cave (it's big). Recently I bought some coral from a guy who was moving and he threw in a pair of mated tomato clowns. I have them now in QT, but I'm wondering if my FP will fight with them. Do you think they might be able to get along? Or do diff. types of clown not get along?

Anything is possible BUT I don't believe this is gonna work. Tomato clowns rank around the top with maroons for being the most aggressive of clowns and being about an inch and adding a pair of tomatoes I only see problems for the lil guy and you in the future. I would try to trade him in at the lfs.

DO NOT add two clowns of a different species together in the same tank. They WILL fight and one will end up losing. (dieing)

That is so sad, I so much wanted to keep them. Anyone have any success with tomato's + FP clowns together?
If not, then I think I will trade them.

Mixing different clowns doesn't work, and like mentioned Tomatoes are pretty aggressive. If you add the Tomatoes the perc will get beaten up.

I have a 125 with a mated pair of tomatoes and a mated pair of perc. They each stay on there own side of the tank, it almost like there is a glass between them, but there is not.

i think putting clowns together is like playing poker sometimes you win and sometimes you lose... but my personal experience is you can put them together with no problems.... i for instance have a 3 in gold strip maroon in my 90reef with a pair of 1 to 1.5 in perculas and the are fine... you can ask anyone on here who has seen my tank they will agree... in my 125 prior to the 90 i had 2 percula, 1maroon, 1 clarkii and 2 tomatos.... they all were fine ... the trick was introducing them at night and make sure that there was a suitable anemone or hiding spot available for them in the tank... so i think it is really a gamble but you should be ok if you do it with the lights off and feed your fish the day prior to introducing them....

Hello there

I have one tomato clown and one FP, around the same size, but I introduce them together into my tank, and they are ok. At the beggining the tomato was kind of agressive with the FP. Still sometimes the tomato push the FP a litlle bit but he doesnt hurt him. Thats my experience with these two, but I dont know about putting them at different times...im not sure if it will work. But probably not, considering that you want to add 2 tomato, not only one...

Well,
I put the 2 mated pair of tomatos in the tank and they inmediately hosted on a coral next to a cave. When the FP saw them he got very upset. He would pick on the female tomato ALOT. I thought I would have to take them out, but I followed phtby's suggestion and turned off the lights and hoped for the best for the next day. They continued to fight this day, but less, then gradually they just kept to each side of the tank. It has been 1 week now and they seem to be doing just fine. The tomatos are on their side happy with their coral and the FP is on his side of the tank with his shell that he hides in.

I will continue to observe, but so far so good.
Thanks for all of your opinions, it definitively helps.
