I have a CPR Bak pack on my tank and it does a fairly good job. However, it will be replaced before too long with something bigger (I have a 90g). I bought my CPR used and it have worked fine, although it needs adjusting now and again. The air adjuster valve had been removed, I guess the previous owner thought this would increase performance, it does just the opposite, I put a small screw in the opening and if I adjust to almost no air at all, I get the thickest and tiniest of bubbles. I recommend getting the prefilter attachment (a must) and if you have trouble with bubbles, spring for the combo Bubbletrap and prefilter. This will also get rid of the 'film' that occurs on the top of the water. There are sites that give some instructions for mods to increase performance. These can have mixed results and include upgrading to a Maxi-jet over the RIO and adding an airstone. Mine came without bio media and I would have removed it anyway. It becomes a Nitrate factory. I occasionally put a bag of Carbon used for Aqua Clear 300 in the back to polish the water. Fits great. Becareful it does not cover the return or you will have wet floors. Some people have put their heaters in them to get it out of the tank. The black adjuster bands rot over time, vaseline will slow this process. Setting the collecting cup to just below the water line gets a drier foam altho mine is always very liquidy.
