Will firefish fly?

I think it's possible for any fish to attempt to jump out of the tank, given the correct motivation. A fish trying to escape from a predator might try carpet surfing if there's an opening for him to jump out of. I had a lawnmower blennie who attempted to escape....twice! I found him and threw him back in the first time. The second time I was too late. By the way, I think he was trying to get away from the ick that was in my tank, not that I knew that at the time.
Purple firefish are pretty docile so I don't think they're any more likely than anything else to try to escape.

I call them suicide fish. I had two. As soon as I put them in they jumped out. Eventually they died when they jumped out before I had a chance to cover the top of the tank and while I was at work.
