Hey everyone, my 55 is almost done cycling! But I went out and bought a 10 gallon to keep rosely reds and ghost shimp in to feed the eels and lions. I was wondering, If I keep a bunch of ghost shrimp in the 10 gal, will they reproduce in their??? And what should I feed them? Thanks!

I buy and keep Ghost Shrimp in a 10 gal feeder tank...
Ask your LFS to order a 1/2 box (500) or a full box(1000) much cheaper at that rate...
I keep them in "brackish" water 1.010 sg because I think the transition to saltwater is easier and they live "slightly" longer (at least till they get eaten) if they dont go directly from fresh to salt.
Feed them flake and brine shrimp...bare bottom and a couple peices LR to "hang" on...
I'll go through 500 in a month so there might be some "babies/eggs" in there but I never noticed a "self-sustaining" population...

The hardest part is going from a 0 to 500 shrimp population in a 10 gal and NOT getting an amonia /nitrite spike wiping out the whole tank...
Do daily partial water changes for the first week or so and keep an eye on the levels...After a week or so the shrimp population has gone down some and the bacteria has had a chance to catch up and it stabilizes ( as much as it can in such a small tank) and then in a month/6 weeks you get to do it all again...
Good Luck...

I agree with Squidd... unless you are going through massive quantities I would just buy a bunch through your lfs and hold them in a tank (i prefer 20L but they are much more expensive).
Gjohnnyp- I don't use a heater on my ghost shrimp but the temperature in the rooom never really drops below 74 degrees... and since I am constantly doing water changes the replacement water is usually around 79 degrees.
