Why are we even encouraging cycling with living animals anyways, clownfish4? Most people on this board seriously discourage it and consider it the worst possible way of attempting to cycle. I would take the shrimp out and return them to the LFS...they may even hold them for you. I would then attempt to cycle with live rock or frozen shrimp. After your cycle is finished then re-introduce the inverts. Your clownfish probably died as a result of the cycling process as ammonia levels, which are highly toxic, are simply too stressful to survive in. Why try to cycle again with living fish if you've already witnessed the result once. Not only is it a waste of money, but it is cruel and, as you have seen, inefficient. Take the shrimp back. your cycle will continue if you occasionally "feed" the tank some flakes. No need to cycle and waste money on inhabitants through the cycle. The LFS really stole your money is all, if they gave you this advise.

so your cycle is done? Then you should be fine...may have a small cycle but doubt it. Just wait eight weeks if your clown died from ich to make sure all the ich dies though.
