will iodine dip stress my bubble to death?

My bubble coral is very sick (see thread in corals forum, I'm not getting any help there

) and I think its from screwed up water chem. However, I am working on that with water changes. In the meantime would it be a bad or a good idea to do an iodine dip? My lfs guy suggested it. If so, what is the recommended way to do this?

I have never been a big fan of iodine dips. I think they are more stressful than good.
