Has anyone had any luck with a yellow longnose butterfly eating aiptasia? I know copperbands do, but my LFS suggested (and sold me) the longnose for my reef tank. There's a yellow tang, two clowns and a jawfish. One peppermint shrimp and one cleaner shrimp. Corals are mostly softies.

if you're looking fore fish to take care of aiptasia. copperband butterfly fish would be good.but they are a difficult fish to house. another way to go is peppermint shrimp they're suppost to be great fore aiptasia control. but they do require iodine for proper molting. also little less expensive to . hope tis will help you out a little bit.

I've had aiptasia on a LR I purchased a couple different times. I have two peppermint shrimp, and they got rid of the stuff within two days on both occasions.

i foregot to mention if you add any kind of butterfly fish they are safe with caution they could pick at your corals or eat them. so becareful what fish you add. try todo alittle bit of research on them first i think i would stay with the peppermint shrimp.just to be safe.
