Will sand hurt the coral

Just got a teal open brain coral....I have it placed on the sand and it has some sand on it...will it hurt it?

I would blow it off with a turkey baster.....sand sitting on a coral isn't great.....

Agree.....just waving your hand over it might remove the sand as well.
