will tank break?

Will the tank break with no water in it. Sinner thinks the stuff that holds the glass together might come apart if it’s dry, after it’s been wet.
If it matters, the tank will be empty for at least a year, if not longer.
I’m not getting rid of it, but I don’t want fish in it either right now.
Thanks

shouldnt be a problem. Silicon is what holds it together and other than aging im pretty sure has no adverse affects after being exposed to water.

There is no problem with that. The old metal framed tanks used to dry out but the modern all glass ones will not.I have had some without water in them for 15 years and they have been water tight.

I also had an all glass aquarium that sat empty in a corn crib for 10 years. I used it last month to cure sand and it didn't leak a drop.

My 20g macro algae culture tank was in storage for 15 years. Set it up and no leaks. Has be (re)running for over a year now.
But after prolonged storage it probably is a good idea to fill with water and check for leaks. That actually is a good idea anyway. If a seam is leaking, it is extremely easy to fix with an empty tank. Lot harder to fix after everything is up an running.
