i just picked up my glass baffles today from the local plate glass Co. and they cut them smaller than i ordered ...so now i have a space of 3/32 on each side of the sump to fill , will the silicone fill the gap and hold them in place ? will it be strong enough?

Try using foam weather stripping for windows.
I currently forget the thickness but by using it you can eliminate the need for silicone - which can be troublesome to use - by wrapping the sides and bottom of the glass with the weather stripping and wedging them in place in your sump. This is something we usually do with acrylic baffles but I don't see why it can't work for glass as well. Just be careful as to not break the glass.

I personnally would make them cut them again, or refuse to pay for them, they cant charge you for a mistake. if its not what you ordered.
but IMO you may be able to used those baffels, if you dont mind looking at the extra amount of silicone it will take to seal them in place. it would bug the crap out of me having them the wrong size, But I like really clean lines on my DIY stuff. if you dont care then you should be able to use them.

there already paid for , i didn't really think to measure them there, because i expected there craftsmen ship to be better. "my bad", i will be calling them tomorrow to see what there going to do to correct there mistake.but i may be stuck with them if there customer services isn't any better than there quality. thanks for the advice ,at least i can use them if i have to.

1/16 of an inch isnt really something you can get mad about. every time you make a cut with a table saw it shortens the overall length of the two things by about an quarter to eigth of an inch. 1/16 was much closer than what i got when i cut mine. filling the gap with silicon works fine
