Will This Do?

are you making your own sump or are you buying one? The only reason I ask and maybe its me but I would not place the return chamber baffle so high.
I leave a two-three inch gap from the top of the sump to the top of the baffle.
In reality I don’t thing it makes no matter really. Water will travel the path of least resistance. Water fill all open/ even voids before flowing else were, I.E over flow the sump.
A closed loop is not hard to make. it’s a pump with plumbing on both ends. draining water and returning water with just the pump from the DT. No reservoir for water.
If you look around and search closed loops you'll find some really great ideas from other members.
I must confess, I have stolen some of the ideas and made some modifications to fit my needs, desires and to achieve the ascetics.
If you really want to make flow you can get penductors and place them on your return loc-lines.
I bought one to try and it really adds flow.
Kind of makes up for head loss.

im planning on making one out of a 20g glass. the dividers can be glass right, sry dumd question just double checking.
u mean the first baffel in each set should be lower so the water level is lower in the sump.

Watts per gallon doesn't mean anything if you are serious about your corals. You want to focus on par if you really want your corals to be healthy and grow well. On a 75 gallon softy tank, you could get away with CF lighting. That is a tank of mushrooms and some zoanthids, maybe a leather. A 75 gallon tank with LPS you would want VHO or T5's and a 75 SPS anemone system will need MH, VHO and T5's. The 75 would need 175 watt metal halides to reach the bottom of the tank sufficently to supply your corals with proper lighting. An even better 75 setup (if you can afford it) would be 2x250 14k with VHO or T5 supplementation.
I run 2x250 10k with 1x175 14k qith 6 54 watt 420nm T5's for supplementation. I have 5 RBTA's that love it and my SPS are out of this world. Hope this helps.

well im set on buying a PFO retro kit that holds 4 110w bulbs still havent decided the K rating (thinking about using three 12,000k bulbs though). I want to be able to keep all corals and anemones. I can have up to 440w. VHO by the way. point me in the right direction if this setup wont work for that

No you can and want to put the skimmer in the main drain chamber (left side) the right side is the refugium.
