Will this skimmer work for me?

I am looking into a replacement skimmer for my 55 gallon tank. Is the CPR bak pak 2 reef ready good? Or is there something that is better? My only requirement for my skimmer is that it must be HOB. Thanks for the help!

I have one on my 29G....works good
BUT for my 54G I have an aqua C Remora.....works better....LOL....you might want to look at the aqua for the 55G

do you remember me complaining about a skimmer that all it did was make bubbles....and it leaked....THAT WAS IT!!!! I had nothing but trouble with it, so I gave it away and bought the Aqua C Remora
AQUA C gets my vote ...BIG TIME

I got the Maxi-jet 1200, and I am not sorry

It was also very easy to put on the tank......BIG PLUS for me

Remoras or Octopus would both be OK IMHO. I do have two remoras on my QT/HT tanks but have heard many good things (except Flower's experience) with the Octopus brand as well.
Mine do not have the drain plugs either.

I've never had either but have read more bad things (and not just on this site) about the octo brand. Mainly the micro bubble issue.

Thanks for the info! I am going to go with the aqua c. I don't think anything can be worse than what I had.

Well, I got the aqua c remora. I like it so far, and I have a back up pump for it since my old skimmer used the same maxi jet. It is pretty quiet and I am just having a small amount of micro bubbles. I'll see how it goes.

YAYYYYYY....and it came put together....LOL...A BIG + FOR ME

It took two seconds to put the pump in and put it on my tank. I looked at it and could not believe how simple it was.
