I barely remember my prom either because of Captain Morgan. I do, however, remember my date. She was a hotty!!!!
Like the above posters said, you shouldnt have to ask if she is your GF.
I'm with you Shogun! I'm going on 16 years since my prom and the only thing I remember from it was my date. I was 18 and she was a 10th grader, hot blond surfer chick. We caused a lot of problems because her sister was in my senior class and she did NOT want her little sister at her prom!

Ya everything changes at 26, beer doesn't task as good, it is harder to drive at night, your muscles will ach when you wake up... oh man it's horrible
But just to stay on topic, I honestly think a nice dinner and asking her while out on a nice date (do kids still date?, we used to have to court(sp*)). Although i'm cursed with not being very creative with romantic stuff, I do believe that asking your girlfriend to prom is something that you can casually do - but still in a sweet way. Something like a dinner idea, or possibly having her do a scavenger hunt and each thing she finds gives her a clue to the next. Then finally she meets you somewhere and you ask her. I think i saw that in a movie a few times, but it seems to have worked for them.
well then, if it's expected, do you have a "special place"? meet her there, surround yourself with rose petals laid out in a heart shape and make a big sign that says, "PROM?"

i dunno, i think we can take out the options. lets be serious - you ask your high school GF to go to prom with you the only obvious answer is YES, otherwise there's a break up on the way. you only ask your GF to prom to be courteous - you know how us women get when a guy tells us we're doing something instead of asking us to do it...
Hmm, I'm 20 now, but my senior year my then-boyfriend asked me by making a trail of 3 dozen roses across my driveway, into my house, up the stairs, then to my bedroom, where he had made a sign saying "Will you go to Prom with me? I love you."
It was really sweet.
