Windows 8 vs Others

When apple first intoduced their Iphone and Ipad products they were light years ahead of the competition. Now that they have some real competition from samsung and a few others apple is steadily losing their market share in favor of android and windows platforms. You limit yourself going with apple and pay a premium for doind so. They have quality products but that's not the only thing that users are looking for.

I agree. If you can pay considerably less for a product that has the same, or even more features, then why buy Apple? No one is going to keep their pc or iphone for 10 yrs, so longevity of the apple product I don't think is the deciding factor.

What's the lowest common denominator? Everybody around here owns Apple. Everybody from working minimum wage jobs to my professors with PhDs. I don't see how you can lump all those people into one category for owning an Apple product.
They made what was at the time a revolutionary device that easyforanyone to pick up and use.that is what I meant by that statement. Since then however, they have fallen behind the curve as far as features and the technology in general. The problem is, once you get invested in the apple environment it is near impossible to switch since any purchases you make of either apps, music or movies are all done through iTunes, which is apple only. I can use a Samsung, htc or Motorola android device and all my music and apps all work seamlessly regardless of which manufacturer I choose

Yep. I still haven't gotten over the time when they hijacked my Itunes account back in like 08' and tried forcing me to purchase their products in order to be able to keep using the media that I had already paid for. Man, I was mad. I'll continue buying Samsung devices from here on out, just out of spite lol. Can't say that I blame them but a heads up would have been nice.

A policy that relies on the public's adoration of a particular product line. The danger is that they continue to loose base customers to more user-friendly devises.

Apple is a good company don't get me wrong. They built their empire catering to a particular niche of techy. They've had a bit of a honey moon with the smart device boom but reality is starting to sink back in. The question is that if they want to keep getting that good gravy money will they sell themselves out to get it? This is where Steve Jobs would have come in with a newer revolutionary device idea.

I like Mac OSX as a operating system for my computer, but I agree. Apple is going to loose in the mobile devices war. With all of these new phones an tablets coming out with so many features, and Iphone staying Iphone, Apple is going to need to hurry up. The Nokia Lumia 1020 has a 41 megapixel camera. Yep.

That camera is not all that it is cracked up to be. That is too many mega pixels for such a small camera.
