Hi everyone, i want to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm Bowie and my father/mother and i are into salt water aquarium. One of the main reason why i got into salt water aquarium is due to my dad's passion towards it. We had a 150g salt tank a while back and it was very exciting and enjoyable fixture at home. Well, we always wanted to focus more on corals instead of fish so we decide to upgrade our 150gal tank to 180gal. We also decided to put the new tank at our nail salon instead of at home since we spend most of our time out there.
My dad wants to organize a new setup to lessen the everyday maintenance of the tank by beefing it up from our old tank. Our current setup are:
-Tsunami Wave Maker to control two homemade close-loop circulation
-Homemade Calcium Reactor
-Homemade 55gal Sump with divider connected to Homemade 45gal Refugium
-Reef Concept Skimmer (Venturi Style)
-Maxxima RO unit w/auto top off connected directly to 60g barrel
-pH monitor by Milwaukee
-CO2 controller by Milwaukee
-Four 48inch (2 actinic and 2 sunlight) bulbs
-375W Metal Halide (two 14K and one 10K)
With this new tank, our main focus would be coral proliferation...mainly soft corals and some SPS. We want to take time and just have fun and watch the frags take shape and eventually mature our tank.
We also wants to limit our bio-load by (trying) not introducing any new fishes.
I'm a novice in this hobby but would love to learn. I look forward to learn from you guys. We want to be patience with our tank and take our time watching the frags grow...so if you guys have frags that you are willing to give it a good home, please let me know. If you are near Winston Salem, please stop by our shop and check out the tank. We are located on Reynolda Road in Winston Salem NC and our shop is My Nails Salon.
Here's a few pics of the tank, i will continually add more pics to this thread. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys from the forum in the near future.
