There seems to be limited number of places to buy saltwater in wisconsin. A guy in Green Bay, Aquatic Imports, I like the best. He sells 50 lbs. for 250.00. Comes to 5.00 a lb. Still plenty high, but his place is worth a visit.

The place is great I go there all the time! and the live rock is $3.99.
I have not purchaced any but it is cheap. The other stuff there is ussually rally good!
If you take I94 to the civic center exit downtown stay to the left thne go straight to wisconsin AVE. and take a right. take wisconsin to 3rd street. go straight for about a quarter of a mile and you will see it on your left side. look for the sign that says tropical fish!!
you love this place!

SaltH20,
Have you bought any LR at Aquatic World right there in Oconomowoc?
I've bought about 60lbs from them. They honored mail order prices for me at $4.00 per pound.

The best part is is they will beat any local pet store price on supplys even on fish. and they mach internet prices. I plan on buying lots of stuff from them!!

I've only had my LR for 4 weeks, and my lighting is bad....I just got my canopy last Thurs night, and I'm putting in MH when I get back from vacation after next week.........BUT.......
The LR I got from Aquatic World is doing well, I think. Some dark purple corraline algae...a little sponge doing well. Copepods. A spaghetti worm. Tons of baby feather dusters, and a couple of fan worms. Also some stuff I can't identify. Seems like stuff comes up every day. I can't wait to see what happens when I put good light in the tank.
I did look at a couple of pieces there last Thurs night, and they smelled bad, so I passed. If you buy from there, you better smell or plan to cure the rock......

I know this is an old post, but does anyone have info on some of these other places for Live Rock. I live 20 min outside downtown milwaukee and want to find this $4 lb live rock. Aquatics unlimited is $7.99 and Pet World is 8.99. I need 30 lbs this weekend.

I keep telling people to look on Craigslist first, I've bought live rock, fish, frags, all kinds of great stuff dirt cheap. And if what you want isn't there, just wait a week and it will be. If you're not looking for somthing really specific or exotic it's the only way to go.
