Hey y'all!!! How you guys doin? Well...I'm doin much better than yesterday! I got my wisdom teeth cut out yesterday at noon.
This was funny...before they put the IV in my arm we started talkin about guitar stuff. I asked the nurse if she's heard of Chet Atkins...she said, "Yes I have...He was an amazing guitar picker." Ok then she let me breathe in some good ole Oxygen and a little bit of laughing gas. hahahaha. Then the doctor put the IV in my arm...and I said, "Well that wasn't that bad." I laughed. hahaha.
Then I asked the nurse if she's heard of Doyle Dykes. She said, "Yep sure have...he's awesome!" Then I fell alseep then woke up at my house. hahahahahaha. I was drugged out yesterday. I couldn't feel my tonuge until around 6 and my chin till this morning. hahahaha. It was cool. hahaha. What's weird is I have no pain in my mouth!
There's this huge hole where one of my wisdom teeth was...It's cool!!!!!!!! hahaha. A little gross but cool! hahahaha.
Anyway...keep me in your prayers!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless you!!!!

All of them? My boyfriend is getting dentures due to a hereditary tooth disease that rots his teeth and has gotten five pulled this week including a wisdom. They wouldn't give him anything for the pain except for novocaine. The dentist said wisdom are easier to pull than others due to their shorter roots and showed him the xray when him asked why it only cost him $60 to pull that, same with the rest. Needless to say he is very grumpy and hungry as he can't eat anything. BTW who's Doyle Dykes?

At 27, I still have my wisdom teeth...got them in when I was 16 and have never had any problems. They tried to pull them, when I was boot camp, even tho they were perfectly fine...said they might become a problem later, when I was on a ship. I flat out refused, until they finally gave in and let me keep 'em.
What ever you do, take every measure against getting dry socket. My friend got his pulled, didn't listen to the advice and was out drinking the next night, along with disobeying every "to avoid dry socket, don't do this" rule.
He was in such horrible pain, he said it was worse than having them pulled.

When i was in the 7th grade, im a sophmore now, i had 8 teeth pulled at once for my braces, including 4 wisdom teeth. They put me to sleep for that. All i remember of it is him putting the IV in my arm at about 9 in the morning, and then my mom waking me up at 9 that night to watch my favorite show. haha i looked like a chipmunk for about 4 days afterwards

Apricot or peach baby food rocks for dental work. That is if you didn't plan ahead and eat real food while you couldn't feel your face-even though the dentist tells ya not too.

pulling and cutting are 2 different things. Pulling is "easyier" vs. Cutting. Cutting is usually because the tooth is not going to come out because its impacted. It is considered a surgical procedure. All 4 of mine were impacted and it was painful. But as long as you do EVERYTHING they told you to do you should be fine. You want to avoid a dry socket. Rinse, rinse and rinse again

My fiance thought it would be okay to eat "real food" the day after he had his wisdom teeth pulled. It didn't hurt too bad, he said.
...Of course, that's when he could still talk. His jaw got very badly infected -- thanks to nachos, chicken wraps, salsa, etc. He couldn't speak/eat anything for a week, because his face was so swollen and tender. He had to get some

antibiotics to fight the infection.
So, my advice to you is enjoy eating junky foods like pudding, ice cream, and jello while you can -- do not be tempted by "real foods." Seriously. (Also I might add rinsing out the holes is the best part -- it's like discovering treasure. :p )

Thanks guys for all the info and support!!! My mouth hurts very very little today! Petjunkie...Doyle Dykes is a world known fingerstyle guitar player. Yeah...the laughing gas sorta wore off. hahaha.
I can only rinse my mouth out with some mouth wash until Wednesday. Doctor's orders. Then I have to use some saltwater to put in the holes in my mouth to wash them out. Fun. haha. I started eating real foods yesterday...I ate an egg for breakfast, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese for lunch and dinner, applesauce, and ice-cream! YEAH! haha. The Doctor told me I could start a soft food diet yesterday and continue until my mouth completly heals.
Thanks again guys!

thats what I meant by the rinsing. The saltwater rinse. It is key to this.
My girlfriend had hers after me and she did not follow through with the required saltwater/syringe rinsing. 2 dry sockets and infection
