I guess I am just lucky? I am 27, never had my tonsils removed and my wisdom teeth never developed. They are not even buds underneath the gums in xrays. :

hmmmm.... now that explains a lot!

KIDDING!!!!

That or they don't want them to push on your teeth undoing $3500 in braces.
Protruding through the gums isn't great either.

i was ill for 2 weeks after mine were removed. they had already erupted (ie; pushed through the gums) and were hurting pretty bad on their own. Then I had 'em removed and was laid up for over a week.
why, you ask?
because the pain killers (hydrocodone, or Vicodin), they gave me made me so freakin' sick it should be in a record book somewhere. I kept thinking it was pain from the surgery so I kept taking those painkillers at the appointed times - then someone heard my symptoms and was like STOP!!! Don't take any more of the meds!!
At that point I was so miserable I would have tried anything, so I didn't take my next pill - and about 8 hours later I was FINE. FINE.
so..... be careful what they give u after. I only ended up needing some advil after all that.

usually people's mouths aren't big enough for them, and they almost never come in straight. lots of times they are perpendicular to how they should be.
i had mine out (needed surgery for it) and the stiches stayed in instead of disolving. one of the stiches wound its way around one of my molars and in between the molar and the gum. that was more painful than anything. I finally said heck with this and pulled it out. a little bleeding, but the pain went away immediately.

i got all 4 taken out 3 years ago. all at the same time, all with nothing but novicane. it was pretty neat hearing the teeth crack while the dentist was pulling and breaking them apart. plus she was pretty hott too so i didnt want to be totally retarted when they were being pulled.
one thing i gotta say....mac and cheese! you can eat it in small bites and you dont even have to chew it to get it down. or maybe im just a fat ba$tard?

2 top ones pulled out. That part wasn't bad. The bad part was "mad-scientist" dentist I went to that climbed up on my chest with his knees for leverage.
My joke is I had a nike swoosh mark on my fore head for a month.

gave me a bigger headache than the the surgery. So I took aleve. But it still sucks. Looking back, I wouldn't do it again. I'd rather just keep biting my cheeks.

nope. practically no swelling at all
I was the same way.
Once the stitches started disolving I thought I was going to lose it. Little pieces of leftover stitch poking out of my gum
Didn't last too long though.
