Hello Fellow Reefers:
I use to have a 150 gallon reef tank with 300+ lb live rock, sump & refugium, calc reactor that sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. I've been out of the game for 5 LONG years, but 'PREPARING' to jump back in. This go around will be a 90 with a 20 sump. Ok, if I learned ONE thing during my last 10 years of owning a reef... its DON'T SKIMP. With that said I'm looking for advice.
Looking for help designing a tank for a mixture of hard and soft. I'm not a skimper..want to buy once so I'll spend the money on quality parts.
I'm use to halides and actinic VHO's. Anything better these days? Good place to buy?
Skimmer? top of the line is?
Where is everyone ordering salt from these days?
Refractometer from?
Fabulous inside jets? pumps?
At this point I have a 90 gallon tank, 20 gallon sump + custom stand. I need EVERYTHING else. When I got out 5 years ago I sold everything.
Planning to document the evolution of this tank. I'm also a hobby photographer that shoots a Canon 40D.
Thanks in advance
Travis

With a 20g sump I would go with a external Bubble King Skimmer. For the fabulous inside jets look at the MP40s. For lights some say LEDs are the future but until then Im sticking halides. Check out ice cap, or if you dont want the heat look into maybe ATI t-5s. Maybe try LEDs for supplements. Just too many options. BTW you said you dont "skimp".
