I don't know that I would blame Quinn. The guy has got some talent, he just needs more time on the field to develop. Agree, his passes are all a little awkward, and he ditches the ball a little too quick IMO, but just overall...Cleveland was not clicking. The worst IMO, was the receivers. They were dropping everything thrown at them, and routes were being messed up.
I don't think the Ravens were much better, just that it had to break open one way or the other at some point.

I guess I could have said that in another way...either Quinn is that terrible, or the playcalling was designed to make him look that terrible. How many "bubble screens" do we have to see before we scrap the play from the playbook?
This organization is one of the more poorly run organizations in all of professional sports. Name another organiazation that allowed their coach to pick his own boss....what in the world was that all about??? Now, we have 11 draft picks next season...and we have to worry about whether or not Mangini will have anything to do with them (please, lord no!!!)

Oh no, Quinn is that bad. I have been saying, since he was still at Notre Dame, that he was being over-hyped. He has never been better than a little below average. I told a friend at work just before he was drafted that you can mask a so-so QB in college, but not in the pro's. The only reason he has been given so much attention is because he was from Notre Dame and Notre Dame alums control almost all the sports media. But Browns fans can take a little comfort in knowing the defense is going the right direction.

okay, maybe he is worse than I thought, I have not followed him. Like I said, most all of his passes were a little awkward looking, but not un-catchable, especially for a pro receiver, so I was looking/faulting the receivers more than the passer. I wasn't faulting him on the play calling. I agree, the screens and sorry play choices were rediculous, but that's not him making those calls. It was obvious that they didn't trust him going down field with the ball until the 4th quarter.

What the Browns need to do...in a nutshell
1. FIRE MANGINI and Brainless Daboll, they stunk in NY, they stink here...let them become someone else's problem.
2. Hire a GM (Mike Holmgren would be nice).
3. Hire a coach with actual winning experience and an offensive coordinator that can actually move the football and has an offensive scheme that has some inventiveness behind it.
4. HIT on MOST of the 11 draft picks that you have this year.
5. Players to look for...a right side of the offensive line (Joe Thomas, Eric Steinbach, and Alex Mack are solid on the left and middle), either a REAL #1 receiver or 2 #2 type receivers to go along with Massaquoi and Robiskie (assuming he develops and doesn't go down hill), a tight end that can actually catch the freaking ball, and a STUD running back (this should be priority numero uno).
6. Keep Rob Ryan as DC...the defense clearly is NOT the problem with this football team for once. Get a few players back healthy and perhaps bring in a pass rusher.
7. FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO AT QB...either give Quinn the job for a whole season or go out and get a serviceable QB in free agency.
WOW...that is all the further my team is from being a contender??? Somebody remove all sharp objects from my house...I didn't realize that we were THIS bad!!!!!!!!!!!

That's way too much thought into the Browns...They do have 11 draft picks next year.

Unfortunately...I am a Browns fan, so that is what I have to look forward to (and to think about for another 7 LONG weeks of the season
)
With their recent history in the draft, having 11 draft picks really doesn't mean all that much...they only have Joe Thomas, Alex Mack, Kamerion Wimbley, and Brady Quinn on the roster as their own 1st round draft picks since coming back into the NFL (Tim Couch, Courtney Brown, Gerard Warren, William Green, Jeff Faine, Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow...all 1st rounders either on other teams or out of the NFL right now)...how sad is that, of the 11 first round picks that the team has had since returning, only 4 are currently helping the team??? You can't win when your player evaluation is that poor.

sweet a diehard browns fan, I mean I'd heard of them, I knew they existed. I just never really believed the stories. Kind of like I think snow is a giant fake. There is just no way it gets cold enough for 10 feet of snow to accumulate on the ground...

Hey T, you folks there in Carolina might just have a real team. What frustrates me about Carolina is that they have a legit running game and yet they keep putting all the pressure on Delhomme. They really ought to go to the Jimmy Johnson/Emmett Smith/Troy Aikman playbook. I know I'll get torched for saying this, but they really have an early 90's Dallas feel to them. I was really impressed (p*ssed) at how they carved up the Cards on both sides of the ball. I think they just need a few more of the young guys to believe they're good.
