So this just in, the Cowboys offensive line missed their flight, and they had a local high school football team fill in.
I'm not going to lie, I was fairly disappointed with this weekend. I got one entertaining game, a great defensive game by the vikes, and 2 not even close to interesting games.
What is the deal with kickers this year, I think I saw 4 or 5 missed field goals today, well at least one was a 56 yarder. But seriously? How hard it is to kick, it wasn't like it was snowing the wind blowing 40 mph and minus ten degrees. It was an indoor game and san diego (which means whales

[hr]
, No It means Saint Diego, well no one really knows what it means) except 75 degrees and sunny.
Another thing, supposedly the Eagles were an elite team in the NFC if not the NFL. And well there is just no way. Farve is an old man god. I still have this inkling in the back of my head, thinking about other old men playing sports like gods(Roger). And well I wonder when the Roids story is going to break...

I went 2.5 -1 This weekend. I was the only one to give the Jets a chance and nailed it on the head but didnt really pcik them to win outright. I just said that if Sanchez doesnt put his team in a bad spot then they will win. He did that and they won.
Now.
No rookie qb has ever advanced to the Super Bowl I believe. Big Ben was 1 game away his Rookie year. Now Sanchez. Sanchez is a lot like Flacco last year and Ben his Sophmore year. Not asked to win the games just told not to lose them. This team reminds me of the Steelers a few years ago or the Ravens last year. Great defense best running game and a qb who is asked not to screw up and he isnt.
The Colts shut down the Ravens running game which had been running wild the past few weeks. I expect them to do the same. You cant beat the Colts and Manning by just running. I expect another low scoring game but the Colts should win. Manning wont let a Rookie QB show him up at home one game away from the Super Bowl.
The Saints and the Vikings is really a toss up. If the Vikings play defense like they have the past few weeks the Saints are gonna struggle. Favre is playing out of his mind. Dallas has a better defense than the Saints and punished the Saints a few weeks back.
I think Favre has the better defense and the same amount of weapons on offense to get it done
Vikings vs Indy in the Super Bowl.

both games should be fantastic next week.
probably not alot of scoring in the AFC and ALOT of scoring in the NFC.
if the vikings can get pressure on the QB like they did today there is nobody that can tough them. I can't think of a more dominant performance by a D line. Saints are weak in run D which will also favor the Vikings.
Not counting out the Saints O as the Vikes secondary is the weakpoint of thier D and that is definatley the saints power. Should be a good matchup. that one will be won in the trenches.
I ddint expect anyone to touch SD in the playoffs. Jets did it with great defense. I see more of the same against the Colts. Rex has his team believing tehy are capabale of anything. ANd they dont seem to be affected while playing on the road.
The Colts have been so hot and cold this year. even in alot of their wind it required an act of god for them to pull out the W. Should be good.
I say flip a coin on either game, but Im going VIKES-INDY SB

This thread is about last week, quit making picks for next week.

Cowboys and Cards got it handed to them...No whining, no complaining about refs, or injuries, they both lost to better teams.
Can't believe Nate the great cost the Chargers the game

I think Peyton looked a touch rusty, he is just getting warmed up.

I dunno, Warner looked pretty beat up. Not that it would have mattered.

That was a nasty shot he took. Having Cromartie ( our best cover guy) and Rolle go out early was bad, not having Boldin was bad....But not as bad as the beating they took.

After listening to Warner after the game, I actually now think he will be back next season though.

I don't get this, why do people think just because he's old he's going to retire. The dude played really well. Isn't that what matters, not that he's forty something. Can he play? And well he, (and brett) still can.

The Concussion he sustained this year....That's when he started talking retirement, but I don't think he will leave 10 million sitting on the table.

Opening betting lines...
Saints by 4.5
Colts by 7.5

They just aren't giving the Jets or Vikes any respect. I'd take both those bets.

I think the Packings are a very, very good team and will win outright. I still don't buy the Jets, but 7 1/2 is really tough to pass up in a championship game. But I am, Colts by a bunch.
BTW, I know one line that has already gone up to Jets +8, I'll bet that by kickoff, it is even higher. If this was a reg season game: Manning, rested, at home, vs Jets----would probably be a 10 point spread.
The over/under on the AFC game is only 40, hard to believe. I don't like parlays, but the Colts & over sounds great.............maybe too great.
