I woke up this morning to a hose loose and water pouring down my leather couch onto carpet. In the process of stopping the flood, I electricuted myself, even though i looped the tubes to have a drip line. Well here's the question... I have 55gal and Im saying 1/4 - 1/2 water is on floor to reduce the shock on my brand new fish and cuc (poor guys been in there 2 days) Should i slowly add water back or does it matter as long as the temp and specs are fine??

what a hell of a way to wake up.
Im sorry but I cant read what you are asking clearly.
You have a 55 and 1/4 to 1/2 of the water in the tank is now on the floor?

okay. Well all you are really doing is a large water change. Make as much as you think is gone add. Check salanity and add as needed. Get the temps in order. All is fine.

Well. That is why you must make sure the salinity is good. The inverts its need to be correct. You arent going to really cause much stress than what is already being done. Just keep the lights out for the day until tomorrow. You need to refill asap. Go to home depot and get some hose clamps

if nothing is out of the water take your time, putting salt water that isnt fully disolved into a tank can do a lot of harm, my opinion, take the strongest powerhead you have and put it into a bucket and mix it up for at least an hour than add a pump with a regulator dosent have to be much and have it pump the water back into the tank slowly, such as a gallon every 10-20 minutes, that will allow at least a little more time for it to dissolve. Also any temp changes will be almost nullified.
Once again this method I suggest if nothing is out of the tank water level.

Dont worry most of us have felt that way at one time or another.
I hate that kind of wake up call. Glad to see you got it fixed.
