Still for all of you that don't know me, my old Screen Name was SnakeBlitz33.
Anyways, my wife and I just got a confirmation that we are going to have our first child! Due March 13th, 2012! I'm so excited! WooHoo!!! For a boy, Ethan Michael and for a girl Emma Grace. Thoughts??
Does anyone have any advice for me on what to expect during and after pregnancy? HELP ME!!!!

Congrats! My oldest birthday is March 11th. Both names soud nice. Either a past relative (parent, grandparent, etc.)?
During pregnancy - lots of attention to the Mom. Some get morning sickness bad, some get none. Plenty of back and foot rubs once they start "showing". The first sonogram is always exciting. Are you going to find out if it's a boy or girl then, or do you want to be surprised? Your wife may get a little anxious when it gets closer to delivery, also a little depressed about her "size". Just keep her focused on the joyous things about having a child, and always remember the "comfort foods". Prenatal classes are always fun. Gotta love the breathing exercises - "Hee, Hee Hoooo", "Hee, Hee, Hooooo". Both of mine ended up being C-Section. Don't freak out if that occurs.

Thank you, thank you. No, they weren't relatives names. It's just names that my wife and I have picked out a couple of years ago and always liked them since.
Great advice. She's always complaining that she hurts and that she's nauseous even if she isn't pregnant. lol! So, that will be nothing new. I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl. I think we will know in about ten weeks.
My wife wants a girl of course, and I want a boy... of course. lol. We'll just have to see.

Oh, and I finally picked a career that I know I am going to thoroughly enjoy... teaching college biology, marine sciences and ecology. It's going to be another decade or so until I can start my dream job, but that's when I thank God that I have such a wonderful wife that puts up with me. :D

LOL...Congratulations. As for advice...be extra nice to your wife. I bet you already had that planned, just remember this moment when she gets crabby.

Be extra Nice to your wife uring the Pregnancy. After the bundle of joy arrives Don't wear anything you DON'T WANT PUKED ON. Both of my kids would see daddy wearing something nice and Up would come the Formula. Also if you go the Bottle route for feeding Dr. Brown Bottles Trust me will be a Lifesaver stepson had sevre colic as a baby according to my wife. The got Dr Brown Bottles and it went away. I doubted they were that good was trying the cheap ones with my daughter she got Colic. Made a real fast trip to Wal-Mart that night.
Be ready to see Relatives you have not seen in a long time. I have SIL's BIL's that I did not know I had coming out of the woodwork to see my kids.

Congrats!!! Like they say, Life will never be the same... And you would not change that for the world. Being a daddy is the BEST!!!! Start saving now for extra baby expenses, so you can still have some $$ left over for your tank. LOL

Get all the sleep you can now! As a father of 20 month old twins, sleep can be hard to come by once they are born! It wasnt until about 6 months after they were born that we got back to a somewhat normal schedule.
