Yeah!. I found out just how much of an addiction this site can be. For some reason two weeks ago, I could not log on any longer. I though I got the ax. It was horrible. I saw so many posts I wanted to contribute too, and I had so many questions, and I had a pile of photos I wanted to post. THEN....I took two weeks off vacation. One for elk hunting, and one for being with my family. Actually two for elk hunting, but I scored early, and got two spend one and a half with my family.
ITS GOOD TO BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will sound real macho, but I've had so much fun with my girls this past week, I haven't gone to town to get my photos developed. Probably tomorrow. I'll post them. It was fun. After I got him down right at dark, I climbed back up the mountain to get my camp, then finished dressing out the elk. The next day I took my two year old and four year old with my wife back to the elk. We were only two miles into the wilderness area. They watched me skin and cut up the meat. Real bonding time. I hiked them out just in time for my dad to show up with the mules. Its nice to have some connections.
Thanks Melody!

Awsome! But watch out for that Chronic Waisting Disease... Where did you take the elk? If it's around Colorado, watch out. They are killing and burning HERDS of Elk to try to eliminate this disease. It is known to be a lot like Mad Cow Disease....
Get some pics of the kill up on here!!
:D

It might not be so much around CO anymore. The last I heard of it, it was in Montana I think? I'll have to call my mom. She lives there in Morrison. She knows a lot more about it than me.
