I remember reading that new people get discouraged reading posts because all they hear is peoples problems. Well..................
I got a good deal on am Anemone yesterday. It's a sebae about 5". I wasn't going to buy him because I heard/read that false percs won't host them! But it was only $35 so I got it anyway. LOOK AT THIS!!!!!
I'm soooo happy.

Thats the best feeling when they finally host. It took my clowns 2 years before they even got near my sebae. Now they never leave it.

Feeding the anemone is not required, just supplemental. Your clowns will probably even take care of feeding it for you. Mine do.

I have an anamone that looks like Rach's and I always thought it was a long tentacle. Mine has the same markings on its body and is the same color as hers . Mine is 9 1/2 inches across when it is stretched out . Also the foot is the same color. When I got it in April of this year it was only about 4 inches and bleached white but it is now the same color as the one she posted....so now I also want to know what she has . My clowns will not go near mine . I feed mine 1/2 of a fresh shrimp every other day. About once a week , I will stuff the shrimp with fresh garlic . Mine is a pig and will grab the shrimp when I get close to it . I can't see the center of hers in the pictures she posted but the tentacles in the center of mine are bright yellow ..just the ones surrounding the mouth...they glow under the moon lights at night....I have noticed that even the yellow tentacles are getting brown streaks like the other ones did once the color returned when the bleaching went away.

well here is my BTA.
it is most definitely a bubble tip, as when i got it looked like a BTA, now it does not. shortly after getting it, it , as some BTA and RBTA have been known to do on occasion for no known reason (that i have been able to find) the bubble tip tentacles elongated to tentacles that look like they belong to LTAs or Sebaes... notice that the BTA's tentacles are all uniform in color...

Entacmaea quadricolor, Bulb, Bubble, Bubble tipped, Maroon anemone.
Recently obtained individuals will usually have unmistakable swollen ends on the tips of their tentacles. Specimens in captivity will often loose their bubble tips for periods of time and just have long straight tentacles. The tentacles usually have a green color especially when exposed to only actinic light. The tentacles may also have a frosty white ring around the tip. The base is often rusty red but may also be purple or just tan.

No that is a Sebae .... the tentacles are to short and abundant to be a BTA ... also you can tell by the stand out purple tips ... BTA tips are more transposed ....
Looks good
