My overflow is gugling like none other, is there a way to stop that, I thought of putting a piece of filter pad next to not on my PVC opening. any other ways?

How is the input to the fuge? Is it through a bulkhead? I had that trouble with mine so I added a piece of pipe under the bulkhead in the sump that went below the waterline. Stopped it.

Yeah - hard to know from the description but in general when I hear "gurgling" or "flushing" overflow I think (and google) "Durso standpipe"

Umm, it seems the stockman version might be what I need. My overflow box opens from the bottom. My dad and I are guessing that the flow is too erratic because there is too much air in the system.

Both the durso and stockman work basically the same way. Submerged intake with a vent for air. If you've got the room then just save yourself the extra drilling and go for the durso. The stockman is more compact if you don't have enough room.

I had that problem too. I just used a net. I put the mesh over the opening and that worked. The larger the holes in the mesh the better. (traps less)
