Word of Caution! :(

And no my anemone did not go into my powerhead. My starfish got too close to my anemone and ate it. I never thought my anemone would, but they are opportunistic feeders and will eat whatever floats their way. I'm just bummed I liked my starfish.

I have been battling my clowns for about a year now. They grab by red knobbys and carry them into the anemone.
Luckily, I work at home and their tank is close so I am often watching and catch them in the act. Several times, I have found my beloved Patrick sticking out of the mouth. I have pulled them out and they are covered in a slime coat and aren't moving. They usually remain stiff for a few hours then slowly start to revive.
While one of my knobbys is missing, the others are still kicking in spite of being pulled from the belly of the beast.

It is a sebae anemone and it was a knobby starfish. I'm assuming the starfish just got to close while I was at work today. I just saw a tiny sliver of its arm and knew what happened. There was no way to pull it out without damaging the anemone.

If you ever have it happen again, pull him out. He will look horrid, covered in a slime that resembles spider webs but I have not had one perish on me yet. They will look stiff and dead but will slowly come back. I have two that have been "eaten" twice and were moved to another tank, both are still kicking over a year later.

Wow, didn't know they would do that! I already learned my lesson on anemones when my Kole Tang got eaten. I will never have an anemone again!
