In your original rant, Internet should be capitalized because it is a proper name:)
I misspell all the time though...

I can't lie, I'm almost obsessive compulsive when it comes to spelling but I make mistakes from time to time so I generally just bite my lip and roll with it. Sometimes it's just so blatantly obvious that it's lack of education that I just stop reading the post and move along...

Uneducated ignorant people need love too.

Or how about the loser who writes "I seen that in a store...." Oh my goodness! That is uneducated if you ask me! It should be "I HAVE seen" or "I saw." Some people just need to speak correctly and that will help their typing skills.

Here is a novel idea. Why not volunteer to teach literacy to those who need it. It will make all us non-losers sleep better at night.

nothing is going to change by making more of these threads...why make another?
So should we just give up challenging things that are not right just because we think they will not change? I don't think so. As to starting this thread, it's my perogative.

Omg! You are so right! Sometimes, there are so many that I can't pick just one and I end up getting none. Then as I'm on my way home I think to myself that I love pie, and you actually come to mind cause I know you love pie too and then I remember how I got none cause I couldn't make up my mind and I'm sad for the rest of the day.
It sucks!
sigh...

Capitals at the beginning of sentences please.

Now, this is something I've just started doing recently online... Back in the day of BBS-only telnet, it was pretty rare to see capitalized sentences. Come to think of it, this is the board where I made the switch.
SWF worked for me!!!

I understand that it is annoying to you, but come on now. You cannot fault people for silly little things. Yes, it is annoying when people type in text form or whatever, but simple misuse of grammar is a pretty mild thing to be upset about. The people are here and trying to help their fish, don't fault them for silly mistakes. I don't think that there is a person on this board, including you and myself, that have not made a few typos or grammatical errors (BTW, you spelled prerogative wrong
)

I did in fact spell prerogative incorrectly, but I did at least use it properly in a sentence. The spelling and grammatical errors that are consistently made by some folks are the result, I believe of a p i s s poor education.

Being well educated is fine, but i think one needs to have some patience , tolerance ,and manners as well.
I also dont believe educated=intelligent.

The importance of grammar is clarity. No one can type every keystroke perfectly, or catch every error. But striving to use coherent grammar and intelligible spelling is about respecting other people who you are trying to communicate with: being considerate.
I'm not a grammar nazi, and this principle actually can allow for leetspeek.... as long as your audience is composed of fellow leetspeakers who will have no trouble understanding you.
But using some semblance of proper grammar is a sign of consideration for others. I'm not trying to agree here with lecturing people on their grammar, especially not here. But for the subject in general, I think that's something important to keep in mind.

Ones education may or may not be totally in their control.
