ok, I've had my aquarium set up for a few months now and had only had "dead" base rock in it. I went to the lfs last week and bought an engineer goby which I absolutely love and a 1 lb. piece of "live rock". I was looking in the aquarium yesterday and noticed a lot of 1/4" long black lines on my white rocks which looked like scratches. Upon pressing my nose up to the glass I noticed there were HUNDREDS of these things all over my aquarium and they were moving! What are they?
They do not seem to have any "arms" or "legs", just kind of a deep red in the middle and clear/blue at either end. They are so small I can't make out anything like a mouth - just little tiny straight worms.

are they attached to the rock, or are they free moving?
Could you post a pic.
the only thing i could think of is bristle worms if they are free moving. But "hundreds" wouldnt come from just 1lb of LR.
Try and get a pic and it will help out alot.

wow, im really not sure. Those are hard to identify. They could be some sort of tube worm. But maybe an expert will come in with a proper response.
