last night I noticed a worm like creature it is about 18" in dia. dark grey with a white stripe running down the lenght of its body and what apears to be a coral duster that juts in and out of the end like a feeler or a mouth than today i saw it again this time the white stripe turned to white rings it seems harmless enough but it is right under my open brain any insight as to what this may be will be greatly apreciated.

I have something similar in my tank as well.
It's a greyish/brown with white stripes. I've
heard they are bad and eat corals. The petstore told me to get them out of my tank.
Problem is just how many are in there and do
they regenerate. I also would like some help
on this problem.

After a good talk about live rock with my very knowledgeable fish store owner, he doesn't sell live rock and I asked why?
Liverock is very hard to find good quality. Also LR brings with it many worms and animals that will feast on corals and others and in the end can be very bad. Sure it looks good but many times it causes some problems in this aspect. Also with the increase of sale of liverock causes many busineses to tear up the coast taking thousands of pouds of live rock from the oceans.
Best bet is to find a method to clean the rocks of all foreign creatures. Some are good and harmful but others aren't.
People in the internet have suggested Triggers or agressive fishes to hunt these out. Best of luck.

I am still watching this thing and it seems to be just cleaning algae off the rock and very selectivly I might add.I just bought a flash light with a red lense and will try to see what he is up to when it is really dark. again if any one can tell me more, I will thank you in advance.
