Worms good or bad and found something nice

Ok so im in bed my wife is in the basement folding laundry. She texts me and tells me to run down there are some worm like things coming out of the rock. I coundnt see them at first then we dimmed the lights and low and behold a worm appeared very thin but aprox 3 inches long. I could not determine what it was. So i removed the rock , it was a big bulky piece but more of a skeleton like so she told me to use a chisel and split the rock so I did. I then found another fatter version of the first except it was only about a inch long. Here is a pic of them i put them in a baggy.

However when inspecting closer I now have a quarter size serpent starfish. I got lucky when I split the rock i missed him by 2 inches.
Any idea they are a brownish red in color.

So I took them to my LFS, the fatter one was a Fire Worm (glad i got it out) he told me what the other one was but said it could get a couple feet long.
