How do you set up the nylons so you can catch the bristle worms? I saw a few last night and need to get rid of them since I have the clams now.

Cut out the foot portion and place a meaty treat inside. The bristle worms will seek out the food and their bristles will get caught in the stocking. Remove it with tongs and be careful not to touch the worm as they can sting.

hmmm guess I will find out when my clam gets here on saturday!! <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />
There is no way I could get rid of my bristle worms
To many!!!
But they haven't bothered anything yet :)

the only reason a bristle worm eould go after a clam is because it was dying. so, unless the clams are dead, you shouldn't have any problems. besides, you will NEVER get ris of all the bristle worms.
colarodo reef, aren't you doing the whole clam filter thing?? thats cool. did you get the clams from ffexpress.com? they are having a sale on 3" clams(forgot what kind), 2 for 30bucks! thats a good deal if your doing the filter thing! take it easy! :D

LORDOFTHEREEF,
Yes I am doing the Clam filter
But I am just buying 1 for now - Never had a clam before - just want to make sure everything is o.k with keeping 1 for about a month before buying more!!!!
I will check out that site - I paid 30.00 for 1

2 quick things: I have 9 clams and probably a million bristle worms (?) and have never had a problem and make sure that you take your wife out of the nylons before you put them in the tank or try to cut off the foot.,

How much of the nylons should I cut off? What kind of bait, is a shrimp prawn OK? Just tie it inside the toes? I'm not asking enough questions am I(LOL).
