In my sand there are these long stringy brown things coming out. They are very skinny , and brown with little black dots. They look like they start in one sopt and branch out from there. Anybody know what they are?

With the camera I have now you cant see them at all, they are very small, about the size of a strand of hair, but they get longer and I see more strands coming out of the central spot.

They are probably hair worms. I have them, too, but mine are more of a gray color. I have seen pictures though of brown with little black and reddish colors, too. Mine are in the rocks and in my sand bed.

No, they just usually stay bunched up in the rock or sand during the day and then at night when the lights are off they extend their "arm" and just sweep the water for food. They really don't bother anything.
