worried about star polyps

It's been since Thursday now and I still haven't seen more than 15-20 polyps open out of hundreds. I just bought the coral on Thursday.

Since some are opening it sounds as if the animal is ok. It may not be happy where it is. Too much light, too little, same with flow, too much or not enough.
Is it possible to move it to a different spot or adjust flow to see if it perks up a little more?

Before moving it... give it another week. Make sure there is enough current on it to prevent detritus from building up.

Be patient. Don't move it yet. Make sure the conditions are good, then wait. Mine took a while to open and are doing well. I had one tiny patch that was grabbed by a brittle star and pulled under a rock. I assumed it was history. About 4 days later I saw three polyps. I lifted up the rock and found four more. (I took the brittle star in to the LFS) These polyps looked like empty purple tubes, but I figured what's another few days. I stuck them in a couple of recesses on a rock where the water movement wouldn't blow them away. After a couple days of no signs of life, I saw a couple specs of bright green. Now, weeks later, I have another two patches of green star polyps. Give them a chance. You can always move them, or part of them.

yep:D same as Ed above even down to the pieces. I counted it as my first successful frag;) It took over a week for mine to fully open.
