Welcome to the boards! What sized tank do you have and do you have power heads in the tank? How long has it been running? How long have you had the clown? What does the black look like? Like brown blotches? Fungus is neither brown nor black and hardly ever appears on SW fish. Don't do any more dips until you find out what the fish has.

i hav a 125gallon with a 33gallon sump, and one power head that i hardly ever use i just keep it in to help blow off the rock when needed i have had the clown for about a month whatever it is looks black to me. when i got him its was sold to me as a false percula i was thinking maybe its a true percula and hes getting his black in him but im not sure i'll try to get a pic posted.

What do you have for water circulation?? One powerhead is usually no way near enough for a tank that size.

i have an overflow system on each side of the tank both with to return lines on each side comeing from the sump there is a pump that pumps the water back up from the sump to the tank.

when looking at him in person the black is darker the the pic shows
Have you taken a look at hyper-melaninization? You do need to have two power heads in the tank. The flow from the return pump is not nearly enough circulation.

ok i'll get two power heads going 2morrow. i dont like them because they fall off the wall and the magnetic one are expensive.

i read the post on hyper-melaninization sounds like the same thing but a treatment was not mentioned all i gathered was it'll go away but that dudes clown died.

Be sure that the suction cups are free of sediment. If they are dirty they tend to not stay put as well.
