just one dead snail most likley not, if your filtration is good and everything is running rigght. If you had a mass die off then maybe. IMO removing the dead snails is a good Idea so they arent rotting in there. How old is your tank? filtration? size? sump no sump? and so on any details could help clarify the problem. including water test results.

I say let your clean up crew have them. They need treats too. One snail wont harm anything.
