Would this be a better filter?

Eveing all, I am changing my 12g FOWLR over to a small Reef and ordered new light s and PHs and ordered a Pengiun 100B Filter, But was told the bio-wheel in the Penguin was a No No. So I ordered a Aquaclear 50 today. It says it is good for up to 50g tank and puts out 200GPH. Would this one be ok for a 12g tank?
. I have never done such a small size set up b4 so I am kind of clueless.

Aquaclear would work fine.. Another thing i would do is get a Smaller aquaclear too and take out the pads and all that good stuff in it and stuff some LR and cheato in there for a small refugium
Just an idea tho
